Now and Then
The inspiration behind Twisted Vines is taken from Enredaderas, an old series of paintings that I created in 2005. I have to point out that my series Enredaderas has been the most conceptual work that I have produced in 26 years of an artistic career.
Twisted Vines shares the same conceptual elements from my series, Enredaderas, along with the structure in its composition. The difference between this new series and Enredaderas is in the style of the painting. Bold colors, solid backgrounds, precise brush strokes, and a graphic style contrast with the expressionistic painterly approach of the old series.
